NGC 6302 (Butterfly nebula)

NGC 6302 (M 0) is a planetary nebula and in the constellation of Scorpion. It is also known as the Butterfly nebula. It is approximately many lightyears away from earth.
Also known as the Bug Nebula, this beautiful planetary nebula is among the most complex ever observed in our galaxy. The two outflows of its central star form a bipolar structure, leading to its very distinct shape, similar to an hourglass. The central star of this nebula is a white dwarf star, and it is one of the hottest stars known to date.
